Growing up: Game 23 vs. Wright State

Wright State (14-8, 7-3 HL) vs. Milwaukee (11-11, 6-5 HL)

U.S. Cellular Arena – Milwaukee, Wisconsin – 1 p.m.

TV: Time Warner Sports 32

How unlikely is this? The Milwaukee Panthers have the opportunity today to move to 7-5 in the conference and get moving on a three-game winning streak.  The unlikely part is that it came against Butler and Detroit and could be continuing against Wright State.  It comes at just the right time, as Milwaukee could use a finish to the season like it had last year when it ended 9-2.

N'Gai Evans scored the winning basket on Friday night.

After the Detroit game, Jeter shared what he liked in the press conference. “This team really, really grew up tonight,” head coach Rob Jeter said. “We, in front of our crowd, got big stops, charges, we were in gaps. We made some big shots, some big plays. We have to believe in each other and I thought our guys definitely believed in each other to get it done.”

The chance at a streak is at stake today against the Raiders.  Despite injuries that shelved Troy Tabler and Cooper Land on Friday, the Raiders came out of Green Bay with a victory, something the Panthers were unable to do earlier this month.g

Land hasn’t played since the Raiders beat Butler on January 16th at the Nutter Center, but WSU is 2-1 in his absence.

With Land and Tabler out, the Raiders are missing two of their top four scorers.  However, their two best players, Vaughn Duggins and N’Gai Evans, are still in the lineup and will be leaned on heavily today.  Both players are averaging 34 minutes per game, so fatigue could become a factor today.
